Don't freak out - this journal is going Friends Only until the troll problem goes away. I just deleted 20 that all came since this morning. It seems like for every one of them I ban another two others take it's place. I'm frustrated and annoyed and so it's Friends Only for at least a week or however long it takes for the trolls to find someone else to bother.

I Woke Up This Morning to the End of the World

1) Today's horoscope instructed me to start checking things off the To Do list. I called about the license plate stickers and I was finally transferred to someone who was helpful and it turns out I have a $29 fee from 2004 on my license. I'm not even going to argue, I'm just paying the $29 and being grateful that the drama is over.

2) Matchbox 20 plus Doctor Who S4 overview = MUCH WIN. The video starts off really well but then sort of runs out of things to say around the 2 minute mark. Still a good song, and the beginning is great.

3) The winchestmidwest panels and videos will be going up, but I can't do it on my own. Tara is currently moving to a new state, Angie is out of the country and Theresa has to transfer all the tapes into avi files which is not a quick process. It's dependant on outside forces right now, and bugging me about it is not going to make it happen any faster - it's just going to make me crabby.

I've Got a Fever - Doctor Can You Help Me?

I think that next year, when they do the four specials, that one of them should be set in Rose's world. I want to see an adventure that Human!ten and Rose have together because I know they will. I don't care that Billie's pregnant, (which, how the hell are they going to keep shooting Secret Diary of a Call Girl? And speaking of, I watched the first season and it wasn't half as bad as I feared it was going to be. I mean squicky-wise, not plot-wise.) because we all know I want Human!Ten and Rose to have a million Half-Time Lord babies (even though I have yet to read a fic that even remotely addresses that with any kind of decent writing) and they might as well get going now. That was a really rambling sentence, sorry about that.

2) I am on a mission to find David Tennant reading an audio book. I know he does the DW ones (I found this one and this one) so I'm going to check the bookstore this afternoon. I think what I really want is him reading in his full-on Scottish accent. Yes, I was rewatching the Comic Relief he did with Catherine Tate in 2007 last night. DO NOT JUDGE ME.

It was the Madison Mallards, which is the local college summer league teamy. I don't know, but there was free beer.

My company bought us reserved tables in the outfield, which basically ensured I didn't watch the game AT ALL.

I may have been sober when I took that picture. But I think I was trying to illustrate how shitty our seats were. But free beer, so not all bad.

Okay, these are going to be my work peeps, but first look at gonturan, me and my cleavage. She was up here for the weekend so I dragged her along. I was worried about fandom and work colliding, but everyone loved everyone else.

1) I'm sorry for all the *WOE* posts lately. No one can make you feel inferior without your consent, and if you're not having a good time it just means you're not trying hard enough. *adjusts attitude*

3) I've been looking everywhere for an animated icon of Team Awesome piloting the TARDIS from the finale, but I can't find one. If I knew how to make an animated icon I would do it myself, but no luck.

4) Have watched the scene on the beach in Journey's End about 80 bazillion times. It breaks my heart and makes me squee all at the same time. That's some storytelling.

5) Sometimes Colin makes me so angry I have to do a deep breathing exercise just to refrain from punching him in the face.

Partial Comic Con Schedule Released

I was doing okay today (even though I tweaked my back yesterday and am currently riding high on 800 mg of Ibuprofen. How did I tweak my back, might you ask? By sitting in a weird position while reading fanfic all day. I am MADE OF WIN.) until they released the Comic Con Thursday Schedule. They're having a Doctor Who panel, the SPN panel will be Sunday, I'm sure they'll have something for X-Files, not to mention all the other cool stuff I could have discovered or the fact that all my friends are going.

I'm so mad I could cry. I get that it's only a Convention and that I'm going to DragonCon a couple of weeks later, but it's not the same. My family is going to be awful that weekend, and if I get asked ONE MORE TIME why I don't have a date to the wedding, I really am going to loose it.

Calgon, take me away.

04.13 Journey's End

I loved it. I loved every second of it. Yes, there were times it made me SO, SO ANGRY but even in my anger I was in love. Because you know what? There are a lot of hours on television that don't engage any reaction in me at all. This show gets a reaction. Ohh, it ALWAYS gets a reaction.

A "reality bomb"? Are you kidding me? Sometimes I can't believe I like this show. *face palm* But cheesy names aside, I adored having a cast of thousands. When I thought they were going to kill Jackie there was *RAGE* but she and Mickey and all the hugging settled me down again. Speaking of hugging OMG LOVED IT ALL. When Rose FINALLY got to hug the Doctor and she did the little snuggly thing with her chin on his shoulder? I MELTED INTO A GIANT POOL OF HAPPINESS. Weirdly enough, the one reunion I was waiting for and never got was Jack and Rose. WTF, show? I mean, I know you were busy with your cast of thousands, but you had Rose hug Martha and Rose and Sarah Jane work together - you couldn't throw in one "Hey, I'm glad you're not dead!" mutual moment between the Rose and Jack? Not to mention it would be interesting to hear what Jack has to say to her for making him immortal.

I loved seeing the Doctor's Earth Family band together and try to stop the Daleks. I didn't see it so much as the Doctor creating murdering warriors as I saw him creating a team of people who would defend the Earth to their last. Every one of those people knew who the Dalek's were and what they could do. There was no question, they had to be stopped. Martha's plan, Jack's plan, the Human!Doctor's plan - I thought they all worked in theory. They had one objective; stop the Daleks no matter the cost. I was proud of them, they all stood true.

I'm not going to lie, when they all got together and started flying the TARDIS I got very, very misty-eyed. If Theresa hadn't been on the couch with me at the time, there would have been real tears. That touched my heart in the same way It's a Wonderful Life does. Every decision you make touches a life. Yes, the Doctor remembered all who had fallen while fighting alongside him but there wasn't a person in the room with him that regretted being there. He might have wished them a different life, an easier life, but they wouldn't change their path for the world. Look at Donna in Turn Left. Look at Rose, Mickey and Jackie fighting their way out of another universe to help. They have all been touched by the Doctor and become better people.

Which is why the ending and what happened to Donna broke my heart. Making her part Time Lord was a clever trick because I thought everything was going to be okay at that point. When the three of them were working out how to send the planets back they were brilliant. Catherine Tate has been a wonder all season long, and this episode was no exception. Somehow she became "my" companion. I've been saying for weeks that I couldn't stand it if they killed her, but now that I've seen what awaited her - I wish they would have. I would rather she died knowing that she saved the universe (a couple of times) then live and not remember any of it. She was brilliant and she'll never know. To me that's worse than being stranded in an alternate universe.

And speaking of alternate universes, I have swung madly between OMG ROSE/HUMAN!TEN 4EVA!!! to THAT IS NOT "THE" DOCTOR!! over the past two days. I think Rose is going to be okay. I think she will learn to love Human!Ten for who he is - a mix of Nine and Ten. Christopher Eccleston inside David Tennant's body? Sign me up. The Doctor is a Time Lord and he can't ever have a normal life and settle down, he's said this a number of times. Besides being able to grow old with Rose, Human!Ten should be able to give Rose that last piece of himself that Ten never could. He was the one who was able to say "I love you, too". But I love Billie Piper's analogy in the Doctor Who Confidential.

"I equated that scene with that moment in "Beauty and the Beast" when Belle kisses the Beast and he turns into a man. And you're really happy that he's human, but you're also really upset that Beast is gone."

That's it. That's it EXACTLY. Rose didn't get her Doctor, but she got a Doctor, and maybe that's enough. I want them to have lots of Not!Time Lord babies and find some semblance of happiness together. They've earned it. I get the Doctor has to be an emo mess - it's who he is. He has to be alone, he has to keep traveling. It's his curse as a last of the Time Lords. But I think even though it probably hurt more than he'd admit to stand on that beach (again) and say goodbye to the person he loved (again), I think he also took comfort in the idea that a version of him was going to be happy, and that a part of him would always be with Rose.

I understand why the Doctor left Human!Doctor with Rose (although I call bullshit on the genocide reasoning. What was the alternative? Turn the Daleks into traffic cones? BULLSHIT.) so they could heal each other. It's not a perfect solution, but this isn't a perfect world. They're going to make do with what they have got, and I hope they can be happy.

We don't always get what we want. But sometimes...sometimes we get what we need.

Wishing, Waiting, Hoping.

I'm sitting here avoiding my FList and waiting for Theresa so we can watch Doctor Who. I didn't get in until nearly midnight last night so I decided to just wait for her and watch it today. I woke up at 6am this morning because I was so nervous. *checks watch again* Come on, Interstate traffic, be kind.

What's everyone else doing this Sunday morning? I'm still enjoying the fact that we didn't get arrested last night for our fireworks display. There is a reason certain fireworks are kept out of the hands of the general public. DAMN.

Oh, and if you tell me ANYTHING ABOUT THE FINALE I will pull a Jay and Silent Bob on you and travel DOOR TO DOOR. *fingers on lips*

Happy 4th of July! I don't have to actually do anything until noon, so here I am washing dishes, doing laundry and tarting around on YouTube.

1) In the Heights Promo Vid set to Bet On It. ulkis pointed this out to me in her PWT finale comment and I had to agree, it was one the best HSM parody's I've seen. When he runs through the park full of people? COMIC GOLD. "In the Heights" is a musical that I tried not to like at first. I've never grown up in a Latino community or worked at a bodega but in the end it doesn't matter. Music is universal. If you didn't catch their Tony performance, catch it here and be prepared to be dazzled. It's reminds me of "RENT" a little, in the way where I've never seen anything like it before.

2) Doctor Who fans, if you need a little laugh, jagwriter78 put together a Doctor and Master video set to John Barrowman's "Anything You Can Do". It's cracky fun that will make you smile in the waning hours of S4.

3) I watched The Army of Ghosts/Doomsday last night. Bad idea. Baaaaaad idea.

Guess who put her stimulus check in the junk mail pile. *EPIC FAIL* I was starting to get REALLY PISSED because I hadn't received my $600 bucks yet, and it was supposed to be mailed on 06/27. However, the envelope was small and shoved between two free newspapers and I never saw it, I just threw it in the recycle bin. It arrived on MONDAY. *face palm* For whatever reason, I decided to look a little more carefully through the pile before taking it out and OMG, THERE IS WAS IN ALL IT'S MULTICOLORED GLORY.

Now if only my stickers would show up for the car. My license plate still says June even though I paid the damn registration the first week I got it and they cashed it the next week. DAMN GOVERNMENT AGENCIES. I don't think they'll pull me over specifically for being a month off on my registration, but if they do, they can expect an earful.

2) We're having a 4th of July cookout at work today. Everyone was told to wear red, white and blue but who is the only one who put forth any effort? *points at self* Luke tried with his red Wisconsin shirt and blue plaid button up, but everyone else FAILS. I have RIBBONS IN MY HAIR, PEOPLE. And a FLASHING AMERICAN FLAG BUTTON.

3) I had two very good talks last night with trillian276709 and writing_light about different things. I also sang on Tara's answering machine when she wasn't home the first time I called. If that ends up online I might die of embarrassment.

4) I'm out of here at 2pm this afternoon. Oh, Company, how I love thee and thy random-ass days off.

5) Also - I'm trying to find the radio edit of Evanescence’s "My Immortal". The one when the drums kick up during the second half of the song, not the weak version on their album. Anyone have an idea where I should be looking? I tried iTunes and the RealPlayer store and nada.

Wizard World and WinchestMidwest Pictures

We went to Wizard World Friday morning to meet ~~Mr. Douchebag~~ Sean Patrick Flannery, who ended up being a no-show.

There were still lots of things to see though.

Theresa and Brian acting like fangirls/fanboys at the DC Comic booth.

I bought a toy Dalek at the Doctor Who booth. When we were checking out the swag, this fellow wandered up and I asked Theresa if she thought it would be okay if I asked him if I could take his picture. She gave me crazy eyes and told me to go ask him, which I did, and he posed. He was totally adorable and was showing me his psychic paper and telling me he was Mr. Smith. However, WRONG SHOES, DUMBASS. Seriously, it's not like converse sneakers are that hard to find.

I wore dumb, cute shoes and my feet were killing me.

gonturan put Shia Labeouf in her cleavage and carried him around like that ALL. DAY. LONG. I love her so much it isn't even FUNNY.

We had AMAZING lanyards this year. We actually bought WAY TOO MANY but didn't care that they were over our budget because OMG SO COOL. (You can actually purchase one [here] on eBay if you'd like.)

gonturan had a great idea for the badges this year. We made them basically the same as last year with the fonts, etc, but on the bottom, instead of *rock music plays* we put the Supernatural logo in either the S1 (first year at the con), S2 (second year at the con) or S3 (panel moderator at the con) credits. I don't know if people even noticed that, but I thought it was a really cool touch. :)

WAY nicer than last year. Even though the event coordinator was a bitch to me.

We videotaped all the panels, so once I cut them down and make nice and neat wmv files, I'll post those (and the PowerPoint presentations) on the website.
