I Reject Your Reality and Replace It With My Own

Tara, Mike and I went for a wander today and ended up at the Beach City Grill for dinner. "What is the Beach City Grill?" you might ask.

( This would be a small spoiler for Ten Inch Hero if you didn't know it took place in a restaurant, which I just told you, so since you're already spoiled you might just as well come look at the pictures, okay? )

OMG, HELLO INTERNETZ!  My conference on Effective Document Management for the Pharmaceutical, Biotech, and Medical Device Industry (yes, that was as much fun as it sounds) ended last night. I had one more night at the Hilton but I checked out early so I could run around with Tara and Mike.


That's the view from my room. It was very swanky.

I'm now sitting in my pjs with Meatloaf playing on my MP3 player while the sun is coming up over the hills.  Life's not bad.

Expect for the part where I haven't got the stimulus check thingy that according to the IRS website I was supposed to receive by May 9th. I KIND OF HATE YOU RIGHT NOW GEORGE W BUSH. How can I spend my money if you won't give me the money? SHOW ME THE MONEY, BITCH!!!!!! *RAGE*

Why yes, MidWest friends, I am awake and posting at the asscrack of dawn here in California. Why? Because Colin texted me at 4:00 IN THE GODDAMN MORNING. Sweetie, I love you, but when I get home I'M GOING TO KILL YOU.

Tonight...NEW SUPERNATURAL!!! Ughh, it's going to suck though, watching it two hours behind all my MidWest peeps. Everyone is going to be in bed by the time I get online to squee!! SUUUUCK.

1) Dear body, you have one of two choices. Succumb to the cold that you have been fighting for weeks but get rid of it before the 21st, or CONTINUE TO FIGHT THE MOFO OFF. It's one or the other, sweetheart. XXXOOOXXX, Me.

2) I want to get together with some of my California peeps while I’m hangin’ in the OC next week. Tara suggested we go to the Saddle Ranch on Sunset (we met jeweleglantine there last summer and had a really good time) sometime between next Wednesday and Saturday. I don’t know if we have any concrete plans yet (Tara and hubby are still traveling and I haven’t been able to speak to them properly in over two weeks) but is there a night that would be better/worse for anyone who wants to come?

3) I'm moving offices today because of the new people that are starting next week. Jess and I will share an office on the other side of the building, leaving my old workstation to the new Ops Manager. The new office is bigger, has a door, and will be a nice, quiet place to work. To bad I'm pretty sure I'm going to miss Colin and Lucas. *sigh* Jess is nice and I like her a lot, but she doesn't make me laugh and tease me about Harry Potter.

Good news: I finished the base (which just means finished texting all the pictures and fixed a lot of the jokes) for PWT last night, to which I say \o/. I need my girls to give me a beta, then I'll polish a few of the jokes and BAM. New episode of epic proportions.

Bad news: All the videos I made for the episode in Windows Movie Maker (meaning the ones I didn't convert to wmv files) before Theresa reconfigured my computer are gone. Whoops! It's actually slightly disconcerting about how much this doesn't bother me. We had to reload all my programs when she added the new memory cards and all the collections I had saved in my old version of WMM are gone. However, there were a lot of things I wanted to change in the videos, so I think this might actually be for the best. Although now I'm wondering if the doctor gave me Prozac instead of Prilosec. :P

2) I leave for California in a little over five weeks and just the THOUGHT of a vacation makes my back muscles unclench. When I visited last summer I found a whole new definition to 'Moment of Zen'. Whether it was running from the tide as the sun set or driving up the coast with the windows down letting the ocean air sweep over us - there wasn't a moment I felt rushed or stressed. Plus, I ache to see sunlight like that again. After a very long winter of below freezing temperatures and overcast skies, a few moments in dry, baking air is going to feel like Heaven. :)

I will get to comments later today. Work has not let up despite my doctors note instructing them to be nice to me. ;)

1) I will never get caught up. Never. Ever. The end.

2) I didn't get the emoness that normal accompanies my return from vacation. I got home around 8:30 last night and was able to get up this morning to go back to work without issue. That is very unlike me. Today at work I have so much to catch up on and no hope of doing it in a timely manner that I've become very Zen. The work will get done when it gets done. Hence me farting around on LJ for a couple of minutes.

4) mr. gonturan was able to snag an autograph ticket for Theresa and she met Jensen and company. [ETA: Which apparently she locked. She's traveling today, but maybe I can persuade her to unlock it when she gets in after she watermarks the picture.]  She posted an incredible picture of Jensen signing her poster. trillian276709 also got an autograph ticket (we tried to be smart and stick non-SPN people in the autograph line. The line started at 3 and the panel at 2:45 - it was like they WANTED people to skip the panel. I am still so pissed about that) and although she doesn't have her pictures up yet, she does have a picture of this ginormous Smallville bag we all were given. *shrug* I don't get it either.

5) It is good to be home. I miss my girls, but it was nice to sleep in my own bed.
