Zac - Blue Steel

DW and HSM Recs

Happy 4th of July! I don't have to actually do anything until noon, so here I am washing dishes, doing laundry and tarting around on YouTube.

1) In the Heights Promo Vid set to Bet On It. [info]ulkis pointed this out to me in her PWT finale comment and I had to agree, it was one the best HSM parody's I've seen. When he runs through the park full of people? COMIC GOLD. "In the Heights" is a musical that I tried not to like at first. I've never grown up in a Latino community or worked at a bodega but in the end it doesn't matter. Music is universal. If you didn't catch their Tony performance, catch it here and be prepared to be dazzled. It's reminds me of "RENT" a little, in the way where I've never seen anything like it before.

2) Doctor Who fans, if you need a little laugh, [info]jagwriter78 put together a Doctor and Master video set to John Barrowman's "Anything You Can Do". It's cracky fun that will make you smile in the waning hours of S4.

3) I watched The Army of Ghosts/Doomsday last night. Bad idea. Baaaaaad idea.

Plastic!Grey's Anatomy

***ETA*** This was an April Fool's Day Joke. I'm not going anywhere. /ETA

You guys, I'm done. I know a lot of you have seen this coming, but Supernatural just isn't my show anymore. The thing is, I just can't put the Barbie dolls down. So I'm jumping fandoms. I hope you jump with me.

Misc - Maybe I WANT to Look Cheap

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

For St. Patrick's Day here at work, I made little "pots of gold" (plastic black cauldrons filled with chocolate gold coins) for everyone who wore green, stuck an Irish flag in anything that stood still long enough, and made some green rice krispe treats. I'm making Reuben sandwiches for lunch, have a fruit/veggie tray full of broccoli, celery, green grapes, green apple slices and green peppers with either a yogurt dipping sauce or onion and chive dip, and a green bread pudding. I just finished decorating the lunch room so this celebration is ready for launch.

I also made a St. Paddy's Day quiz for my work peeps to take at lunch. Winner gets a $50 Amazon gift card. You can take a try too, but all you get is bragging rights. ;)

Happy Valentine's Day!!

1) I went to be at one o'clock this morning and got back up at 5am. I finished about 98% of all the things I needed to take care of. I didn't vacuum. Maybe Lily will surprise me and do it while I'm out.

2) Tara arrives in t-minus seven hours. \o/

3) We don't have a HR person here at work, so I usually put something together if we have a holiday. I made two dozen cupcakes this morning (and I'm sure the neighbors appreciated me using the mixer at 5:45am) and wrote up a little quiz for them to take. You only get nine out of the ten questions, the last one was who at our work had a birthday today.

4) [info]tariel22, I got your package yesterday. OMG, girl!! You spoil me so badly!! I'm wearing the socks right now. :)

5) New show tonight. OMGYAY!!! \o/

It's The Most Wonderful Time of the YEAR!!!!!11!!1!

1) You guys are so QUIET. I totally understand, I'm running around like a crazy person trying to get all my last-minute shopping/baking/mailing done for the holidays.

Here's a little PWT-style Christmas cheer to get you in the mood. It's the opening scene from A Very Plastic!Winchester Christmas. So, spoilers. Also, a huge thank you to Mr. and Mrs. [info]trillian276709 for helping with the credits. I am still in awe. o_O

(You can also download it here if you'd like.)

2) [info]angieb5, [info]writing_light and [info]pen37 saved Christmas!! At least, the plastic version of it. [info]angieb5 did a razzle dazzle Photoshopping effect for a couple of scenes and [info]writing_light and [info]pen37 both helped my camera limp through the final pick-up shots. The full episode will be up Friday night - right in time for the holidays. :)

3) I don't like all the David Tennant is leaving Doctor Who talk. It makes me sad.

4) Decorating is in full swing at work. I'll take pictures Friday to show the final entries. I still feel fairly confindent even though Lucas stepped up his game.

Happy Wednesday! :)

Thanksgiving in a box!!

If I can cook an entire Thanksgiving meal in the microwave at work I think I deserve some kind of cooking award.

Turkey? Check. I bought a pre-cooked turkey breast at the deli and had them slice it extra thick. I will reheat in the microwave before serving. I also have gravy from a little packet.

Cranberries? Check. Can-o-jelly.

Stuffing? Check. Just add boiling water and butter.

Mashed Potatoes? Check. Taters in a box FTW!

Pumpkin Pie? Check and double check. I would have bought a pre-made pie if there was one left in the tri-county area, instead I bought the pre-made crust and made the filling from scratch. Well, not from SCRATCH, it's not like I boiled a pumpkin down to make the puree or anything. I'm not CRAZY.

It's a little unorthodox and a cuts a lot of corners, but I think it will work. And isn't it really about the people you share the meal with? Therefore I already call it a success. :)

ETA: I will get to the questions you guys have been asking (no fair making me think! Holy cow!) later this afternoon. We get out at 2:00pm today (just when you were thinking my job couldn't get any sweeter) so I'll have time to muck around this afternoon. I did replace my first poll because I couldn't get the text box to be the length I wanted it to be. However, the first one was only up for about 5 minutes. Hopefully no one voted in that one.

Halloween Pictures

First off all, Gwen looses at LIFE. Every freaking time I ask her to take my picture for these dress-up days she somehow manages to make me blurry or cut off my feet, or find the only angle where I have 7 chins. Oi. I just took these in my bathroom mirror, hence the semi-exhausted expression.

Pushing Daisies - Peeking

Happy Halloween!!!

1) Happy Halloween! I dressed up as Hermione (gray skirt, white button down shirt with my Hogwarts crest pin, gray v-neck sweater, Gryffindor tie, knee socks and black flats) and I'm carrying around my wand (14", plastic, core made out of air), Fantastical Beasts & Where to Find Them, Quidditch Through the Ages and a very fake British accent. ;P

I forgot how much I loved the little notes written in FB&WTFT. The Ron&Harry friendship is my favorite thing about the books and seeing a little behind the scenes peek at their friendship makes my heart grow three sizes. *squish*

2) We're having a pizza party at work (it was going to be a taco party but I'm not in the mood for tacos. And as we all know the world does revolve around me) for lunch and our costume judging. I think Colin is going to win - he's Bill Swerski and he looks AWESOME. *L*

3) PWT!Halloween will go up tonight at it's regularly scheduled time. I want to watch Pushing Daisies live so it might even be a little bit early if the little munchkins don't interrupt me too much.

What about you? Any big plans for Halloween?

ETA: Bea just emailed me that Regis and Kelly are dressed up as Ryan Troy and Sharpay. I NEED SCREENCAPS OF THIS!!!! *dies*

Trick or Treat, Smell My Feet, Give Me Something Good To Eat!!

My door is open for business!! Comment with what your costume is today (or just make one up) and I'll give you some candy!

How 'Bout Them Packers?

1) I woke up early this morning so I could hustle my ass into work by 7am to get a stack of documents reviewed before my 10am meeting. I made it, and two hours later I just wrestled my way out of the meeting. I'm hungry and I forgot my lunch and this is NOT COOL. I will eat a Snickers bar when I done typing this and make sure to eat real food for dinner. Taco Bell counts as real food, right?

2) I can't get the microphone on my computer to work and it is driving me CRAZY. I've checked and unchecked every box I think it could be with no luck. It used to work just fine, now I can't get the computer to even register that it's plugged in. I've tried two different models and no dice. Life, why must you suck?

3) Last night's Packer/Bronco game was AWESOME. I say that because we WON. 6-1, baby!!! THAT is the way you play overtime. First play, touchdown, Green Bay wins, Andie gets to go to bed. Everybody's happy. ;)

4) I sort of wish my life were a romantic comedy. Or that I would just buy myself a husband off the Internet. I'd tell my mother some made-up story about how we met at a club and gyrated our way to true love.

5) My Halloween costume is all set, I'll post pictures tomorrow. I never did find a Gryffindor tie, I just asked myself, "What Would Martha Do?". She'd make the tie her damn self. So I bought a maroon tie and used liquid stitch to attach gold ribbon for the stripes. However, the raw edges on the back of the tie were making it impossible to tie, so I then asked myself, "What Would MacGyver Do?" MacGyver would use duct tape. So I taped down all the floppy bits and made a smooth surface so I could tie the tie. Voila! I have my gray skirt, white button down shirt and gray sweater vest to complete the look. Oh! Crap. I still need to buy a wand. I think I saw one at Wal-Mart the other day. *fingers crossed it's still there and I don't have to use an empty toilet paper roll instead*

PWT Update and 4th of July

1) PWT 03.01 tonight at 8:00pm CST. The betas have it now and are cleaning things up, but we should be good to go.

2) You guys gave me some AWESOME song suggestions yesterday and I actually made a list of all the songs I want to use, but I decided to stick with my original choice and make the S2 video to "When I Am King" by Great Big Sea. I think the lyrics work really well, but I'll admit I had some timing problems. I swear Kris MacFarlane just makes his own beat up for half of that song. I still think it turned out cute, though. It's best moments from PWT S2. [You can also download the video from YSI or the grab just the song, When I Am King.]

Happy 4th of July!! I'm off to clean!! I'm not entirely convinced that's what the founding fathers had in mind. But there will be fireworks tonight. :)

4th of July Party Antics

I keep thinking I'm hungover but I think it's just a combination of dehydration and exhaustion. Yesterday we had our annual 4th of July picnic at my parents house and it was as crazy as ever.

5...4...3...Open Sesame! Happy New Year!

How is everyone enjoying 2007 so far? Is it kicking 2006's ass? Did everyone watch the Packers win last night? And watch Favre cry like a little girl when it was over? It was beautiful, man.

I went down to Fort last night to a party with all my college friends. Rob was there with his new girlfriend (*glare*), I'm still skinnier than Amy, Parker and I had a long and involved conversation on the Supernatural mytharc (and those poor souls that wandered up to us thinking they'd join in the conversation just backed away slowly when they heard us mention phrases like 'double-mint magic mojo' and 'psychic assbabies') , and Jennie was a no-show so I didn't have to deal with THAT drama.  We did so many jello shots (and really, nothing makes me feel 19 21 and in college again like doing jello shots) I lost count, and Steve made my margaritas perfectly all night long.  Oh, and I told everyone I made that cheese platter when I so totally didn't.  But they all think I'm Martha frickin' Stewart so no one even caught on I was a big liar-pants.

Today was all about recovery and cleaning - I'm weird in the way I like to start a new year by vacuuming.  Other than that, there's not a whole hell of a lot going on.  I think Thursday will be my big post day.  I'll put up my "S2 So Far" Fanmix and the "Dean's Emotional State = the state of the Impala" meta/PicSpam for S2.  I figure everyone will be back from all their merry making by then and settled down.  These past few weeks have been so crazy, it'll almost be nice to get back to the status quo.  Except my birthday is in like, a month, so that will be another week of craziness.  But at least I get some time in-between to unwind.

Go about your day! I'm off to get started on one of my New Year's Resolutions - to leave comments to posts that are not in this journal!  If you see me out and about, cheer me on!! :)

Today is a Good Day

1) [info]reese_a_piece_a sent me the following email late last night and I'm sharing because my sister is funny.

"I just called Mom's cell, turns out they are getting drunk at Mulligan’s (that is spelled right in my world) and calling it a Christmas party. Anyway, hope you have a great and wonderful night. I love you more then taco kisses, wow, that's kind of dirty now that I see it written. Damn gutter mind. Wooooosh, now I'm clean as a whistle. Anyway, I'm really going now. Talk to you soon!"

2) I got your box [info]ladymango!! But I'm being a good girl and not opening it until Christmas. *waits impatiently* And holy COW I got a lot of holiday cards yesterday!! Thank you [info]oceanic_airways , [info]capesofwrath , [info]sarahlitarose , [info]jules_411 , [info]nikkih27 , [info]dragynville (are you going to explain the CD to me? *L*) and [info]iamstealthyone !! So many awesome cards!!

Come See the Pretty! )

3) Did I ever really worry about missing my PWT deadline? Pssh, no. The betas have it now and it'll be up tonight at the same plastic!time on the same plastic!channel. :)

More later. There is ALWAYS more later. :)

Holiday Card Roll Call!

Okay, so I got a bunch of cool stuff Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday, and I feel the need to gush a little.

First - [info]malevolent73 READ MY MIND. Do you all remember this post I made way back in the beginning of November?

Well, guess what she put on her holiday card? )

And then I got some Supernatural artwork from [info]superfluous_emi (which only had to travel a couple of blocks! *L*)

Ahhhh, Woobie!Sammy is my FAVORITE... )

Let's see, I also receieved cards from [info]missyjack, [info]dani_04, [info]writing_light, [info]angelnetgirl, [info]expastic, [info]superfluous_emi, [info]sunn_doyouknow, [info]paddleslut and [info]beeker121. Thanks you guys!!

I made a mini collage before adding them to the big one!!  )

I also received two boxes from Australia - one from [info]dani_04 (she made Plastic!Sam and Plastic!Dean bedsheets!! With HEMS!!) and one from [info]missyjack (and why does it distress me that your name is neither "Missy" nor "Jack"? No matter, when Reese and I talk about you you're still going to be "Miss Jack" *L*). You both ROCK!!!

Also - because Bea is a good sister (even though she has really horrible timing) I have 15 more PWT holiday cards. What does one have to do with the other? LONG STORY. Anyway, although I can't believe there are still 15 whole people out there who haven't received a PWT holiday card - the invitation is open for the last time. No, really, this is the last time. No, I realize I said last time was really the last time, but this time I'm serious. Really. I'm totally not kidding. *L*

Also, I still have cards from the last mail call sitting on my desk - but I'm going to the post office tonight, I SWEAR. So if you're not [info]singindemonhq, [info]candygramme, [info]merihn, [info]amchara, [info]rubyb, [info]rip_67, [info]deathbymutation, [info]gt_bunny, [info]padfoot_is_mine, [info]entwinedangels, [info]but_i_am_sound, [info]babelicious_2, [info]paddleslut or [info]kepp0xy -- sign up!! Unless you're [info]sarahlitarose - yours is in with box I'm mailing with Robot!Robin. *L*

If your name is not on the above list and you swear you signed up but never recieved a card, post a comment again (I'm screening them - non-address responses will be unlocked for all to read), it's possible you were missed. Although I like to think of myself as organized...if I told you how many cards I sent out you would CRY.

But seriously, no one should miss out on the holiday fun. :)

The Absolute, Final, I'm-Not-Kidding Call for Cards

Alright, this is the last, absolute, final, I'm-not-kidding call for holiday cards. I have ten left and I really can't send them to my family, now can I? Poor Uncle Tom, he'd be so confused. *L* Anway, if you've thought about commenting but didn't - this is it. The first ten commenters get cards and the others get...a heartfelt note from me. I don't know, I'll think of something. Although are there really ten whole people out there who DIDN'T already sign up? I swear, the PWT card is the must-have holiday decoration.

Comments are screened and if you need my address for the card I'm sure you'd love to send me, it's here.

ETA: Ummm, LJ? That is sooooo not the icon I chose.  But it is amusing me greatly and therefore it stays. *L*

ETA2: Okay, I've got my 10.  However, if you'd like a card with a picture of a snowman on it with a nice little handwritten note from me inside instead, feel free to continue to comment.  :)  Also, [info]sage3? You were commenter #10 but your post disappeared. It's in my gmail box so I have your address, but I don't see it in the thread. Did LJ eat it or did you delete it? Never mind, we figured it out. *L*
